The Bible teaches us about a God that created humanity with His power and creativity, made in His image. Humans were to be friends with God. However, humans chose to sin, and in our rebellion we brought upon ourselves horrific consequences. The story could have ended there, but God, in His incredible love and mercy, extended grace and mercy. God made a way for humans to be forgiven of their sin, and it was God who made a way for our friendship with Him to be restored. God made the way for salvation and God is the one that gives humans the ability to believe in God so that we might be saved. Salvation comes to a person only as an act of grace by God, through that person’s personal faith. All individuals that are saved by God will live in harmony with God for all eternity.
